Political Prisoners are men and women who, as a consequence of their political work and/or organizational affiliations, were framed by the government.
Many also designate as political prisoners those who became politicized while in prison, acted as 'jailhouse lawyers' or were targeted because of their leadership skills. These prisoners suffered the same torture meted out to Political Prisoners who were targeted by COINTELPRO.
They are all OUR freedom fighters, OUR Mandelas, and we must support them!
